Chest Pain And A Constantly Cold Hand?

October 19th, 2009 by admin Leave a reply »

I’m a healthy, slim twenty nine year old woman. For the last three months I’ve had constant chest pain – achy and tight, and a very cold right hand. One hand is warm to the tough, the other is like ice. It feels cold all the time. Any ideas?

  1. Doc says:

You should definitely consult your doctor as soon as possible. One possibility is Raynaud’s Phenomenon or Syndrome but this needs to be diagnosed by a medical professional.

Don’t postpone doctor visit, and as SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!
I have someone in family currently in hospital suffering from obstructive pulmonary disease and from congestive heart failure, among a couple other illnesses, and having extremely cold hands and feet, plus previously improperly cured pneumonia and retention of fluids was main cause she’s back in hospital again.
Regarding the cold extremities (and unfortunately like many other issues), I’ve only had half-answers! At least in this case we know doctors are openly saying that she’s at end stage and very old, which apparently does not make her a candidate for further tests, treatments and meds.

I’d see a doc, don’t fool with chest pain. Not to scare you. Just be safe. Besides it’s so embarassing to pass out and have 911 have to come get you. Neighbors standing and looking :-) . Go while you can walk in. They can rule out “heart attack” just by blood work and EKG type tests. But a cold hand sounds like circulation to the hand may not be optimum. Does the pulse there feel the same as the other side?

It would be better consulting a doctor at beginning itself.
