I’m Having Horrible Chest Pains .what Are These Symptoms Of?

October 24th, 2009 by admin Leave a reply »

17 year old male inquires-
When I wake up my heart rate gets really fast and it hurts to breathe. My head sometimes hurts as well. This all happens when I wake up, everyday for about a month and a half now. I used to be an alcoholic and the doctor has told me that if I kept up with those habits my liver would fail – soon. I work outside all day in high heat so could that be a risk factor? What’s wrong with me?I don’t have insurance or any money for a doctors visit, what can I do?

well, I’m not sure what you think it is but it’s not a heart attack. You would be dead by now. Cheat pains around the heart, pain down the arm and back, maybe upset stomach are symptoms of a heart attack.
But, it would be something else regarding the heart if you have other health problens. I would see a doctor. In fact, I would have made an appt the 2nd day it happened!!!

It sounds like you are experiencing symptoms of high blood pressure… headache and rapid heart rate. Working in the heat can magnify or bring to light these symptoms. I recommend going to your local pharmacy and testing yourself on their blood pressure machine… for your age your blood pressure shouldn’t exceed 120/80… pay close attention to to the top number…if exceeds 140 then you should find a way to consult a doctor IMMEDIATELY. Also notice your resting heart rate…anything over 75-80 is uncommon. Good luck! Either way find a way to get checked out by a MD

get you blood pressure checked at the drug store for free on those machines near the pharmacy.
