Minor Chest Pain On Same Side As Heart?

February 19th, 2010 by admin Leave a reply »

I get a slight chest pain right next to my heart every so often. I don’t know if it’s my heart aching or my chest. It’s not excruciating or anything like that. It comes and goes. I’m beginning to get worried. I am 18 years old and I am not fat in the slightest bit. I am rather thin tbh. It happened yesterday. Should I be worried? If it persists will I contact my doctor?

Almost all chest pain in teens is muscular in origin and you need to treat it like a muscle strain. It is caused by repetitive movements of your arms or lifting things. Taking some motrin/ibuprofen regularly for about a week should make this go away. And, common sense should tell you that if it gets worse instead of better, even with the motrin, you should see your doctor.
