HI, I am a 25 year old male with no history of significant health problems. For about a month I have been having trouble breathing SOMETIMES, I have the urge to yawn to breath and after a minute or so I feel normal again. about 2 weeks back I started having pain right in the middle of my chest. again its not frequent! My friend thinks its symptoms of Asthma. Any advice appriciated, also I would like to know which specialist I should go to see.. Thank you in advance.

At 25 years it is extremely rare to have a coronary heart problem (ie heart attack) and don’t worry about it now as your symptoms are not suggestive of such a problem. The breathing problem which disappears after yawning is not asthma. From your symptoms I don’t think you have any major problems. At the most it may be a case of Gastritis. Why don’t you start exercising a bit. Go out to have a walk or run daily. Don’t sit in front of TV or computer too much. Don’t eat too much junk food. Take more vegetables and drink a lot of water. Be active and forget about such minor problems.
This could be a Heart Related Issue or it could be many other things, from Asthma, to Costochondritis.
Heart Attack Warning Signs
Some heart attacks are sudden and intense — the “movie heart attack,” where no one doubts what’s happening. But most heart attacks start slowly, with mild pain or discomfort. Often people affected aren’t sure what’s wrong and wait too long before getting help. Here are signs that can mean a heart attack is happening:
*
Chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.
* Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.
* Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort.
* Other signs may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness
25 years young! It could be muscle strain to Costochondritis. With the latter, it could last from a few weeks to a few months. It appears and disappears out of nowhere. To be safe, you should see a physician. If cost is an issue, take the time to go to your local public clinic. They are a fantastic resource for free health services. In the meantime, take Tylenol, Advil, etc., to manage the discomfort.
