They vary for both men and women and also from person to person. It can be something as slight as a tighteness in your chest.
Many people will also have pain in the jaw, their arm, nausea etc, but some don't eperience any of these things. Just fullness or tightness in their chest.

Shortness of breath is the second most common symptom. The pain can be in the upper abdomen, arm, or jaw instead of the chest. A surprising number of women report that their only symptom is a feeling of tiredness, one reason women are misdiagnosed more frequently than men. Nausea is also common.

Yes... heart attacks can occur at any age...even babies can have heart attacks. However the younger you are the rarer they become. They are more common in the elderly...the over 50's and this is mainly due to years of abuse of the body via smoking...bad lifestyle..(that is bad diet and sedentary lifestyle etc.). Symptoms of heart attack vary from person to person but the main thing is this. If the pain comes...but then recedes altogether and permits you to live a normal life...that is...do housework..run for the bus....perhaps keep up with the kids....or...go the movies/mall with friends and have a burger etc....play sport in the absence of any symptoms then it is NOT a heart attack. A heart attack usually means a diseased heart and this condition will NOT allow you to do the usual normal day to day activities without intruding in any way.

It's unusual for a person in their 30's to have a heart attack, though it does happen. It usually means that person was born with a congenital heart problem, such as a connective tissue disorder that causes their aorta to dissect ("Marfan's Syndrome" -- has killed a few basketball players). You should know your family history. Have other members of your family, immediate or extended, suffered early heart attacks, in their 30's, 40's or 50's?
Are you in generally good health, lots of energy and stamina? When do your symptoms appear? When you are stressed, or resting? Many people mistake the symptoms of :"panic attacks" with heart attacks, because they are similar (chest pain, shortness of breath, feeling of being lightheaded). They usually occur when we are stressed (nervous about a speech, for example), as our body prepares for "flight or fight" (the adrenaline causes the symptoms). But it never hurts to check out your own situation. Better to be safe than sorry!

can even happen in teenager. 30's is not as rare as you might think, just not as common as when in 50's.
you should keep in mind that there are many symptoms for heart problem, not just heart attack. Angina pain (heart pain) can occur off & on for as long as month or more and no heart attack, or can actually be giving you minor heart attacks that dont make you fall down or scream in pain or even suspect you had one. Each one does though kill cells in heart that can almost not ever regrow again, so you have weaker and weaker heart,
Symptoms of many heart problems including heart attack:
tingle or numbness in arm or shoulder
chest feels pressed on
shorttness of breath when going up small stairway
dizziness
heart rate above 80 beats per minute when resting/not moving
erratic heart beat-skips beat or uneven tempo
swollen hands & or feet
odd, bad taste in mouth frequently for no reason
becoming pale for no reason
weak pulse
and last but not least, the odd one noone likes to mention - numbness in penis, also slow or weak to fill up with blood (erection)

I work in a Cardiovascular Cath Lab where we take a look at the coronaries and sometimes the renals, carotids, for atherosclerosis and plaque build up - and yes, someone in their 30's can in fact have a heart attack. Its not seen everyday, but I've even see younger. It all depends on lifestyle, stress level, and I think most importantly, how well you picked your Mom and Dad. You may be having other symptoms though as well. It is very common for middle aged women to also start developing thyroid issues that can also give you a sense of chest tightness and heart irregularities. All of the answers are correct. Check with your local Doctor and you can get test's that can easily see if your a proper candidate for further checking up.
Hope this helps.
