I am 15 and this is happening to me. I slept 4 hours the past two nights. Also when I stand I get pains on both sides of my neck. Please help. Could this be from lack of sleep. About 3 months ago I had an EKG and chest x-ray done at the ER when I had a panic attack and everything was fine.

it is called orthostatic hypotension, it usually happens when you lay down for a long period of time and then try to get up. you see, when you get up, your blood pulls to your lower extremities and causes for u to become dizzy. i recommend you for next time, to try to get up slowly and dangle you feet for a minute on your bedside prior to getting up, in order to get you blood circulation going and to prevent these episodes of dizziness. In addition, you might also want to monitor you blood pressure and drink plenty of water. Sometimes it happens, because of lack of blood volume due to dehydration. i think your fine, and according to you, the EKG and CXR came out good. try to relax, and get some good sleep.
Hi,
Dizziness when standing can also be caused by super low blood sugar levels. Is there any history of diabetes in your family? Is there anyone closeby with a blood meter that can check it for you?
Some pharmacies will give a free blood sugar level check, you could call one (most pharmacies have the phone number on the bottle, if you have a prescription in the house).
It does sound like something that needs to be checked out.
I agree with the first answer, but I would still see a dr. again and make sure everything is still ok.
