I’ve been having chest pain for around 24 hours now. I’m only 20, fit and healthy don’t smoke or drink etc… I don’t have any other symptoms with it just chest pain which is right in the centre of my chest. It hurts when I twist my body, bend down or lean my neck forwards/backwards. It also hurts when I pick my 1year old daughter up. It also hurts if I breathe in too much or breathe out too much.

Pulmonary and pleural diseases cause chest pain; examples include pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, pleuritis, lung cancer, and rib fractures. Cardiac causes of chest pain require urgent evaluation and treatment.
It could be from an inflammation in the pleural space, and this condition is called costochondritis. Sometimes antiinflammatories can help alleviate the symptoms.
If it doesn’t get better with some advil, try an antacid such as Zantac or Tagamet to see if it could be related to acid reflux (GERD). If it still doesn’t get better, see a doctor. It doesn’t sound like it is related to your heart and it does sound like it could be an inflammation.

if you are also feeling nauseous, have been sick, sweating and getting headaches, suggest seeing someone soonest, thats usually the first sign towards having heart problems. I think to be on the safe side see a doctor, if only to put your mind at rest. They can give you ECG and determine if you do indeed have heart problems.
boopy is right, could be chronic indigestion, also pulling a muscle can cause same problem
You could have really bad indigestion – try lifting your arms right above your head and see if you burp.
You could have also cracked a rib – quite easy to do!
Call NHS Direct and see what if they can advise you (0845 4647)
