First of all. I had a mild case of anorexia, I starved and purged. But now I’m in recovery. I had chest pains during my eating disorder but mow that i’m almost better the pains are getting worse.
The pain feels like sharp jabs in my heart and a numb/tingling feeling in my left arm, shoulder and jaw. The tingling kind of feels like hitting my funny bone. These attacks only last about 30 seconds and I get them 3-6 times a week.
More frequently, multiple times a day, I get attacks where I can feel my chest pounding but that’s the only symptom.
I had a ECG done at the beginning of my outpatient recovery because my doctor thought I had a heart murmur but nothing showed up.
I’ve told my mom about of but she thinks it’s just from my eating disorder and that it will go away or that it’s from the heat. But it has been getting worse.

It could be anxiety. You could be just worrying about the damage that could have been done to your body, and you are making yourself panic. It could be your body getting use to the intake of food again. On a more serious note, because you were anorexic, it could have done damage to your heart. When you starve yourself, you body starts living off the organs…and they start to deteriorate. It could cause heart problems, along with kidney, liver, damage to your female organs….my friend was anorexic, is unable to have children now…it messed with her fertility. I would consult a doctor again…..an EKG does not pick up everything. They would need to do blood work, an echo, maybe a possible stress test. Regardless you need to see a doctor.
The effects of starvation are severe. You need to go see a doctor immediately. Someone needs to be monitoring your recovery physically as well as psychologically. I think it’s a little worrisome that you say you are recovering from anorexia but your user name is “skinny.” Are you sure you are recovering? Your skinniness isn’t something to be proud of right now. Get some help from a professional!
Sounds to me like you’re having a neurological reaction to recovery. It may not be your heart, but even EC-G’s can be wrong. I would go speak with a Nero surgeon. It may be you’re reflexes from Purging are not functioning right now. It’s like when you get pinched somewhere and you’ll feel the pain in your back. Your nerves sound like their shot.
Talk to a doctor (Neurological would be best)
Good Luck

I would feel like your mom but, the tingling in the left arm and shoulder/jaw worries me. I wouldn’t trust just the EKG in this circumstances. I would want a cardiologist to give me some specialized tests. Although your young you could still have heart problems. Do it now.
