Why Am I Getting A Sharp Pain In My Upper Chest When I Breath And Work Out?

October 19th, 2009 by admin Leave a reply »

When I lift weights and work out I get this sharp pain in my chest especially during dips and other exercises that stress the chest. Even when not working out, I get the pain when I breath in deeply. The pain is more towards the right side of my body and it is pretty deep into the chest. I’m not sure if I’m getting this from a certain exercise that I have done or if it from something else.

when i take long runs i get a pain thats like that. Its like when i breath in deeply it hurts really bad, it feels like its behind the upper part of my ribs. The doctor told me it was only cramps though. He said to make sure i dont just start working so hard all at once kinda work up to it and it will help. Hope that helps man.

Maybe you have a broken rib or a badly strained muscle. Or it might be something more serious. I would recommend a visit to the doctor and a chest x-ray.
    Good luck

You may have separated a rib or torn some cartilage–I did this and messed up my chest permanently. You should stop exercising and get it checked out ASAP.
