Why Do I Have A Sharp Pain In My Chest?

February 18th, 2010 by admin Leave a reply »

Within the past two weeks I have had a sharp pain in the center of my chest when I sneeze or cough. I am not sick or anything. Is this something that I should look into?

Chip, there are many things that could cause that. Most of them are not a big deal, but if it bothering you then yes you should see a doctor. It sounds muscular to me, but there is no way to be sure in this form. The safest and most likely best thing to do is see a doctor, explain the issue and he will do some tests and tell you what is going wrong.
Related to chest pain, heart problems such as MI and such are normally a pressure not a sharp pain. But that doesn’t mean that it can’t present as a sharp pain.
    Good Luck
