Anxiety And Chest Pain?
December 14th, 2009Diagnosed With Anxiety, Is That Really What’s Causing My Chest Pain?
December 12th, 2009I went to the doctor a few times this past month for a number of ailments, the doctor said I have anxiety. I had back pain for 2 months now, as I pulled my Rhomboid at the gym, but also neck and chest pains! The pain isn’t that I feel short of breath, but my heart starts to race (even when I’m calm!) and my chest starts to hurt. Not one side, but both sides. It feels like my lungs.
I’m opening a business also, I’m stressed about that. I’m also worried about a lot of things, but generally I’m a calm person. Stress has never been a factor in my life! I deal with stress very well, or at least maybe I thought I did.
Is chest pain really an anxiety symptom like the doctor said? He seemed to be not worried at all about it!
Thanks in advance
Can Anxiety Cause General Prolonged Chest Pressure/pain?
November 21st, 2009I’ve been to the doctor for chest pain but I am okay. I have anxiety but sometimes I still get pressure/pain in my chest. Everything I read about chest pain from anxiety talks only about panic attacks but I was wondering if anxiety can cause general chest discomfort?
Question About Anxiety Causing Chest Pain And Other Pains?
November 21st, 2009Well, several months ago I was having chest pains and after several tests (EKG, heart monitor and echogardiagram) the Drs told me all was ok and it was anxiety. I am pretty sure it was just anxiety since I never had any chest pains till I had an anxiety attack and the pains started 2 days after my first anxiety attack. After I found out the tests were all normal the pains got much better but later slowly started coming back and now I am having pain in my shoulder, ribs, up and down the upper arms (usually the left) and a “stabbing” pain in my back. None of these pains are bad pain but it just worries me, which could be the reason I have the pains in the first place. The Dr’s haven’t ran any more tests but assure me I am fine. How do I know If something really is wrong if anxiety is causing pains? I also don’t want the Dr to dismiss my pain b/c they think Im a paranoid freak. Anyone have an opionion on this or went through something similar?
Can Xanax Stop My Chest Pain Due To Anxiety?
October 3rd, 2009I have chest pain and it also I feel pain in the back also. My left arm is going numb a little and I’m panicking. Any advice PLEASE?
Chest Pain From Anxiety- Should I Go Back To My Doctor?
October 1st, 2009A few years ago I went in for testing due to chronic chest pain. Through a series of tests it was discovered that nothing was physically wrong but that I was just experiencing stress.
Since that time I have continued to have chest pain. Naturally, it is worse at higher stress times.
My Guy has suggested that perhaps I suffer from anxiety. I asked my mom about what she thought and she told me the same, that she felt I experience a lot of anxiety.
The thing is, on the outside I’m usually okay – no real physical symptoms besides the chest pain and maybe some nausea or headaches. I do feel stressed out a lot, that I can’t get done what I need to get done for my university classes but is there really anything I can do about it?
If I do indeed suffer from anxiety, it is probably mild most of the time and severe only occasionally (a couple times a month I am thinking). Is it worth it to go back to my doctor and discuss it with him?
If we chose to treat it by medication, what sort would he put me on? The people I know with anxiety are on everything from Paxil (an antidepressant) to Xanax (a narcotic relaxant)
Looking for some detailed feedback from personal knowledge and experiences – not a quick yes or no answer. Thank you!
*NOTE* If your advice is not to go back to the doctor, what can I do to alleviate my chest pain?
Please Help? My Symptoms Are Getting Worse. Anxiety, Insomnia, Nightmares, Rashes, Chest Pain…?
September 22nd, 2009I’m a 30yr old female, had insomnia and nightmares when I was a little girl, but it came back.
Anxiety was diagnosed a year ago, xanax prescribed after I went on a “mental holiday”, temazapam prescribed for nightmares and insomnia, exercise and less caffeine was suggested but hasn’t helped at all. I regularly go up to 50 hours without any sleep.
I’m hypersensitive to everything and embarrassingly jumpy, and according to my fella now I talk incessantly and seem to be erratic at times. I’m always thirsty
My vision is blurry. I’ve got rashes that appear all over me and I scratch till the skin comes off, mostly in my sleep.
Im woken by the smallest noise and cant go back to sleep even with medication.
When I’m laying down my legs are ridiculously itchy, like somethings crawlin under my skin. My body twitches almost violently until I nod off. I’m asthmatic and sometimes wake up feeling like I’m takin my first breath in hours.
And for 3 weeks I’ve bled on and off. My doctor is vague.

I Have Chest Pain And Difficulty Breathing?
September 17th, 2009I have been having chest pain and difficulty breathing on and off for 6 months now. I have seen a cardiologist, gastroenterologist, gynecologist, and a ear nose and throat doctor. They say everything is normal and that it is probably panic attacks. So I saw a therapist for 13 weeks because they said it was anxiety. I do think that i have anxiety related to my symptoms because I am scared. I don’t know what is wrong with me but I don’t think it is normal. I don’t know where to turn.
Chest Tightness, Short Breath, Headaches, Abdominal Pain, Symptoms Of?
September 17th, 2009I’m not a doctor, but it sounds like anxiety. I’m sure you know, but no one can diagnose you but your doctor. These sound like something that you should talk to him about.
