I’m a teen and experienced severe back and chest pain that seemed to move in location in response to physical movement. It was extremely painful and hard to breath, but I did not have an irregular or fast heartbeat. It happened about four times in an hour and then went completely away and it’s been more than a day, but now I have severe cold symptoms and a low fever. Any idea what it is? I thought pneumonia or bronchitis?

September 12th, 2009Symptoms include mostly extreme chest pain especially when taking a breath, also pain in abdomen and lower back, overall achy muscles and fatigue with loss of appetite. Occassional nausea, and headache. Disoriented and dizzy feeling. Very gassy. All tests have come back normal, inc CT scan, EKG, blood and urine tests also normal. One doc says maybe strep or mono, but there is no sore throat and no other cold-like symptoms. Web md and other sites offer different ideas for some symptoms, but so far nothing can explain, not even any of the docs, why the severe chest pain….. anyone with info is much appreciated. One more thing fever of about 101.7 occurs consistently for about 5 days.

September 9th, 2009I received a full body massage on Friday. During the massage I asked that the area around my shoulder blades be massaged deeply, as I have a lot of tension there. The massage was VERY deep there – the therapist used her elbow. It hurt a lot, but felt good at the same time. Monday I began having pains in my chest – sharp pains from time to time and one side of my chest is sore to the touch (kind of like a bruised feeling.) Could this pain be caused from the massage?

September 3rd, 2009For a week I’ve been having this horrible pain in my chest everytime I swallow. For 3 days the pain went to my back. So now I have both upper back and chest pain, everytime I swallow. I went to my doctor 3 times and to the Emergency Room once, but they have no solution. I tried Motrin, Mylanta, Advil, and Ibuprofen. Yet, no medicine works. Is there anything I can try or do to relieve this pain? I have not been able to eat or even drink a simple thing like water without pain.
