I went to the doctor a few times this past month for a number of ailments, the doctor said I have anxiety. I had back pain for 2 months now, as I pulled my Rhomboid at the gym, but also neck and chest pains! The pain isn’t that I feel short of breath, but my heart starts to race (even when I’m calm!) and my chest starts to hurt. Not one side, but both sides. It feels like my lungs.
I’m opening a business also, I’m stressed about that. I’m also worried about a lot of things, but generally I’m a calm person. Stress has never been a factor in my life! I deal with stress very well, or at least maybe I thought I did.
Is chest pain really an anxiety symptom like the doctor said? He seemed to be not worried at all about it!

November 21st, 2009Well, several months ago I was having chest pains and after several tests (EKG, heart monitor and echogardiagram) the Drs told me all was ok and it was anxiety. I am pretty sure it was just anxiety since I never had any chest pains till I had an anxiety attack and the pains started 2 days after my first anxiety attack. After I found out the tests were all normal the pains got much better but later slowly started coming back and now I am having pain in my shoulder, ribs, up and down the upper arms (usually the left) and a “stabbing” pain in my back. None of these pains are bad pain but it just worries me, which could be the reason I have the pains in the first place. The Dr’s haven’t ran any more tests but assure me I am fine. How do I know If something really is wrong if anxiety is causing pains? I also don’t want the Dr to dismiss my pain b/c they think Im a paranoid freak. Anyone have an opionion on this or went through something similar?

What Could Be Causing My Stomach Pain, Weight Loss And Other Symptoms?
October 19th, 2009I have been sick for over a year, without a diagnosis. If anyone else has had similar symptoms, I’d be interested in knowing the diagnosis.
Initial Symptoms:
Severe stomach pain, unrelated to eating or bowel movements, worse while in a seated position; Significant weightloss without dieting; Intermitant chest pain; Frequent fainting and dizzy spells; Severe and chronic fatigue.
These symptoms have persisted, and new symptoms have developed:
Headaches; mental confusion and inability to concentrate; nausea and vomiting, expecially after eating white flour, red meat, fats and refined sugar; muscle aches; upper back pain and chest pain when sitting or standing; decreased dexterity and strength in fingers; increasing physical weakness, such that I need a cane to walk short distances.
Doctors have ruled out cardiac problems, chrones disease, thyroid problems, Addisons, Diabeties, celiac disease. There are no visible physical abnormalities on abdominal CT.
Does this sound familiar?
What Is Causing A Pain In The Chest When My 12yr Son Swallows?
October 15th, 2009My 12 yr old son started a “conditioning class” with weights and such. From the day he started, he began complaining about a pain in his chest. It seems like it was a pulled/strained muscle at first. But he says it doesn’t hurt when I push on his chest. He says it hurts just when he swallows. The pain (kinda burning he says) starts just below his breast bone then travels up. Could this be acid reflux?
I’m thinking of calling the doctor or am I over reacting?

September 25th, 2009I’ve had constant chest pain for about 2 weeks now. It’s mild when I first wake up, but gets really painful as the day goes on. The doctor has ruled out heart problems, lung problems and indigestion/heart burn. I’ve had several EKGs, x-rays, a “GI cocktail,” the works… But he can’t find anything actually wrong with me.
