Acai Berries for a Healthy Heart

March 29th, 2010

Most people have heard a little about the benefits of the acai berry. One of the most crucial is the fact that it helps people with heart problems, slows them down or even prevents future heart issues. How does the acai berry do this and what exactly does it do?

One of the most concerning health issue with the heart includes cholesterol. Around 490,000 Americans alone die every year due to Coronary Heart Disease and elevated cholesterol levels. With the ability to regulate or maintain cholesterol levels, many people throughout the world would be able to lead healthier lifestyles.

That’s where the acai berry comes into play. There are several compounds in the acai berry that help reduce cholesterol levels, blood pressure and promote antioxidants within the body. Regular use of the acai berry in any form can help lower cholesterol levels and ultimately a better heart. However, it’s not just the cholesterol that acai looks after. The calcium-rich fruit also reduces the impact and stress of osteoporosis on and maintains skeletal strength. Not only this, but people who suffer from high blood pressure also seem to have a diet low in calcium, according to some studies. When calcium is added to their diet, their blood pressure drops. This reduces the strain on the heart. And what better way to get more calcium without the cholesterol of milk and other dairy products than the acai berry? It’s readily available in all different forms from juice to powders and supplements all across the world as it becomes more and more popular.

Vitamin E, also found in abundance in this berry (twice the Daily Value!), plays an important role as well. It’s greatly influential for fixing damaged tissue and a protective agent. “Acai” high fiber content is very favorable to the consumers proper intestinal function, ” reports Dr. Herve Rogez , “Fiber accelerates the intestinal processes and has a very important role in avoiding colon cancer, The D.V. is 35g of fibers/adult a day, Acai consumers reach this level very easily.” Not only do acai consumers protect themselves from heart, skin and other problems, but acai has also shown potential for fighting and possibly curing cancer.

Acai’s high fiber content also accounts for a healthy heart and body. It is very helpful for proper intestinal function. It’s also key in avoiding and preventing colon cancer. Keeping your body healthy help the heart beat easier and overall body processes work at their most proficient.

Overall, the acai berry’s many benefits don’t stop just at boosting energy and having many antioxidants. With new research being done on this superfood continuously, more things are being discovered about it every day. One day, it might even help in the fight against cancer. But even if you didn’t know that, with the berry’s ability to detox and keep the body healthy, it is becoming more and more popular, especially with those who are looking to become healthier without having to resort to extremes. And with acai becoming more well known, it is also becoming more readily available all over the world in supermarkets and other shops.

Heart Attack Symptoms Query?

February 26th, 2010

I know that when someone has a heart attack one of the symptoms is pain in the arms and even the neck, teeth and jaws. My question is if someone had the above symptoms but didn’t have any central chest pain, does this mean that you can exclude a heart attack as a cause ?
Also if you have pain/discomfort in the left side of the chest does this exclude a heart attack as the cause (because from what I have read the pain is in the centre of the chest).
Thanks.

Can Emotional/mental Stress Causing Chest Pain Have To Do With Your Heart?

February 20th, 2010

i’ve noticed that i have the chest pain mostly when i have the emotional stress… not physical stress. i’ve had 2 different stress tests at the dr, but it shows nothing physcially wrong with my heart. none of my ekg’s or stress tests have been when i’m actually having the chest pain. i’ve tried muscle relaxants thinking it could be muscle spasms . they didn’t help at all. can a persons heart do “funny” things from emotional stress that a physical stress test won’t pick up if i’m not having the chest pain right then?

Is Intense Pain In The Jaw Line Really A Warning Sign Of Heart Attack?

February 19th, 2010

I just received an email, Subject: Heart Attacks and Drinking Warm Water. Usually I treat such emails as junk, but this one I read. Is there any truth at all in this claim? And are people who “send this to a friend” just gullible?
This is what it says about heart attack:
“A serious note about heart attacks – You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.”
“You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.”
“60 per cent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep.”
“Let’s be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.”
“A cardiologist says if everyone who reads this message sends it to 10 people you can be sure that we’ll save at least one life. Read this & Send to a friend. It could save a life.”

Minor Chest Pain On Same Side As Heart?

February 19th, 2010

I get a slight chest pain right next to my heart every so often. I don’t know if it’s my heart aching or my chest. It’s not excruciating or anything like that. It comes and goes. I’m beginning to get worried. I am 18 years old and I am not fat in the slightest bit. I am rather thin tbh. It happened yesterday. Should I be worried? If it persists will I contact my doctor?
