Both times mine happened the same way, it starts out feeling like slight heartburn or indigestion and within 5 or ten minutes it has progressed to severe heartburn and pain in chest, followed by severe sweating and left arm aching and sometimes nausea. within 15 minutes it feels like someone has parked a dump truck on your chest and and the feeling of a rope around your chest being tightened tighter and tighter, and you are pouring sweat like a fountain. by this time you better hope your pulling up to the ER door because your time is about up! they need to start a nitroglycerin iv drip immediately in order to dilate your arteries where the blockage is, then insert a stint to hold it open and allow blood flow to resume. if this is not done right away it will starve that part of the heart for oxygen and kill it forever. that’s what happened to me the fist time, i was in cancun and after receiving nitro and feeling much better i continued on with my vacation not knowing that by doing so i had let the bottom halve of my heart die. hospitals in cancun won,t touch a tourist without 10 or 20 thousand cash to put in their hand and still don’t care if you live or die. they love our money but they don’t like us. am very lucky to still be here.

February 13th, 2010I am a 42 yr old female personal trainer. 6 months ago I got severe heart palps then 5 weeks ago chest pain in left side going through to my left shoulder blade. my echo showed mild mitral regurgitation and mild thickening of the mitral leaflet. I have frequent ventricular ectopy and the symptoms are usually at rest. I have hardly exercised in a month and they are not improving I get the heart palps every day and the chest pain comes and goes but again is most days. I get tingling in my hands and a general feeling of fatigue. I saw a cardiologist who thinks the chest pain is a pulled muscle and that everyone gets heart palps.. I felt so dispondent as I have never felt this unwell since I had parvo B19 virus 2 years ago. I am worried and do not know who to see regarding exercise and these debilitating symptoms. please can anyone help!

February 11th, 2010Had a stint placed after a heart attack near two years ago after an allergic reaction caused the heart attack, complete respiratory failure and near a month in critical condition, I am 45 and still dealing with the thoughts of dying and every small muscle twinge being another heart attack … Cardiologist says everything is PERFECT but does not seem to help.
Heart Pain? Or Chest Pain?
February 2nd, 2010Over the past year, I have had a 3 episodes of extreme pain in my chest right above my heart. It feels like my chest is being ripped open and I have extreme burning and pain that goes up to my shoulders. The last time it really scared me. I probably would have gone to the ER, but I was embarassed (I was in an intimate situation).
I have low blood pressure, but I am very overweight, and I’m fairly young. Since I have been to the doctor TOO much lately for severe migraines, without much help, I don’t want to go to the doctor unless I really need to. (Also, my mother is an extreme hypochondriac, and I have a hard time asking for help without feeling like I’m just looking for attention like her.)
I’ve looked it up, and the only other heart symptoms I have is that I have a hard time breathing sometimes, I find I sleep better with several pillows, and I get fluttering sensations sometimes.
Any ideas?
20 Yr Old Female Had Chest Pain And Elevated Troponin Level, Heart Cath Showed No Damage, Any Explanations?
February 1st, 2010I was having chest pain, tightness like a band around my chest, feeling faint, sweating. My troponin level was elevated but the ekg looked fine. i had a ct of my lungs to rule out PE and it came back neg. so i had a heart cath that showed a healthy heart. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions on what could be wrong??
What Can Cause Left Chest Pain Besides Heart?
January 29th, 2010I have left chest pain and arm pain that has been an intermittent issue for some time…I was checked by Cardiology about 9 months ago with an stress EKG, echocardiogram, and Holter Monitior- showing nothing. I have also had multiple EKG’s in the dr.’s office showing nothing (some innocent palpitations).
Yesterday I had this pain in my chest and arm along with pain in my jaw, shoulder, back. My heart rate was going up and down between 80-100. And indigestion. I went to the Urgent Care, and of course EKG again was normal. The dr. said he didn’t know what to tell me – he said they are textbook cardiac symptoms I am having. I am only 31.
So what else could cause this pain? I have IBS, and perhaps reflux. I am still having this pain and also a metallic taste in my mouth. Is it possible reflux can this closely mimic cardiac? Could a shoulder problem cause these issues? Thanks!

And I’ve been having chest pain recently. I’m in great shape, but sometimes when i have the random sharp pains (which started recently-about 2 weeks ago) i get strange feelings in my upper arm and shoulder. Also, I have hyperthyroidism which causes loss of concentration. Sometimes when I’m talking i get off track and my mind goes completely blank. Could this count for the confusion listed above?

I’m Having Chest Pain… Does This Have Something To Do With The Heart?
January 24th, 2010I feel an occasional ache on my left chest. I’m pretty sure that it’s not a muscular stress. Last night, I think the ache crawled up to my throat. I’m not sure. But the source of ache is at the chest. Could this be a heart problem? I don’t feel any more symptoms related to it. I’m only 17, what could I be getting? any scientific guess? thanks.

January 22nd, 2010background. first im a male 27 yo. I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia about a year ago that usually only flares up form smoking (im not a smoker but do have one on occasion) okay about 2 weeks ago my chest starting hurting. After a few days or maybe about a week I went to my DR. and they told me it was my hernia moving they did an EKG as well and said everything was fine with my heart (grandma side of family has heart problems). At night when I lay down or if I get up vey quickly I get heart palipations. which was another reason for the test. Well the pain went into upper back between my shoulders and hurt worse than my chest, I felt like it needed to be cracked so i did and it seems better, during this time period I have doubled my omeprazole and have no symptoms like heart burn. Certain movements seem to make my chest hurt worse but then I move that way again and it doesn’t bother me. OTC pain meds help sorta. Please help!! frustrated and worried.
