I work for a rapid/bed side cardiac marker testing company. I want to know if troponin is currently being used to diagnose MI and what companies currently distribute in India. Is testing for troponin the standard of care? I would appreciate any information.

February 23rd, 2010it happens randomly sometimes. average three weeks apart sometimes a lot more. there is a sharp pain sort of to the side of my chest right under or sometimes “in” my breast. it gets worse when i deep breathe and then it is gone in like 5 mins.
Doctors Don’t Know Why I Get Chest Pain?
February 17th, 2010For the past few years I have been getting chest pain everyday. I get more of it and with palpitations after emotional stress or physical exertion. I’ve had 2 echocardiograms done and each one showed that I have no problems with the inner structure of my heart. It did show that I have some holes on the outer surface of the heart, but the doctor said that it shouldn’t be a problem. He said that it is a very very rare condition in which one half of my heart is like spongy and the other is normal. But, he said it shouldn’t cause me any pain, and won’t affect my life. I’m in China, and the doctor didn’t know the English name of my condition. Does anyone know the English name of what my heart is? But, I still get chest pain, weakness, and palpitations daily. Why? My dad has had atrial fibrillation and when he was a teenage he had similar symptoms to mine. Could my chest pain be a precursor to A-Fib or something else…or does my spongy heart condition actually cause the pain?

im sorry this is long but i really need help. A week ago i started feeling weak and dizzy with no energy what so ever. I then started getting pain in the centre of my chest. On tuesday this was diagnosed as costachondritis which is the inflamation of the cartilage connecting each individual rib to the sternum. all that could help this is anti inflamatories but being an asthmatic i could not get prescribed any. MY GP told me this pain would last around a monnth and all i could do was take paracetamol. On thursday the pain started spreading away from the area of the sternum, and started to resemble the pleurisy symptoms i had a few months ago, however there was no shortness of breath. By friday i was in absolute agony with constant pain on my chest with designated areas of shooting pain. I went to the walk in centre to see a diffeent GP as it was around 9pm. She carried out a number of tests and was completely stumped as to what was wrong. She mentioned shingles but i didnt have any other symptoms. She also mentioned pneumothorax however she couldnt hear any whistling and my oxygen levels were 99% and again no shortness of breath. Later friday night and now saturday morning atop of this pain it has been feeling like someone has been stabbing pins into the top of my back. Im in agony and really have no idea what to do and neither do doctors it seems. I have looked up shingles but have no other symptoms and no rash. PLEASE HELP ME!!!
by the way just incase it matters. i took paracetamol however it was doing nothing. And when i went to the walk in centre she gave me co-codamol which doesnt seem to be helping with the pain either. Also i am a 15 year old female. And i know i will need to go to the hospital again but i was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what is wrong?
How Do You Know If Chest Pain Is A Heart Problem Not Something More Serious?
January 16th, 2010I commonly have chest pains in my heart area and in my left lower rib cage below my heart, I also sometimes have pain come down into my left arm and fingers.
I am not a worrier at all and only go to the doctor if there is something obviously wrong with me, I am active and eat well too.
Should I be worried?

When I Take Vitamin Pills I Get Chest Pain. I Just Want To Know Why.?
January 10th, 2010I’ve tried three diffrent kinds of vitamin pills, and they all do the same thing. Some give me a headache and chest pains, one doesn’t give me the headache, but I still get the chest pain.
Is it one of the ingredients? One of the minerals? One of the amino acids or fatty acids?
My wife can take any of these vitamins with no reaction.
What’s going on with me?

January 5th, 2010Im 16 years old, I dont do any drugs or alchol, and never have. But my parents have always smoked. Yet I get chest pain in the lower left lung area often,(sometimes right), and in the back over the left lung. I cough up alot of phlem, have shortness of breath from doing little or no activity. numbness in my fingers, wrist and shoulders, (usually left side). Have difficutly swallowing, and am thirsty often. Ive been to doctors before, but it has been years, and I was sent home with a diagonisis of acid-reflux. I have some symptoms of lung cancer, or asthma, but can you get lung cancer at such a young age when you dont smoke. Does anyone know what I might have.

January 5th, 2010Can someone help me find out what I have? I have been to the doctors and a lot of my tests are abnormal but they cannot find the exact cause of my symptoms and test results. I am a 24 year old female. I have a pacemaker for 3 years now. Here is a list of my symptoms: chest pain on and off (same spot always, shortness of breath easily, rapid heart rate( now resolved most of the time due to my ablation of my heart), dizziness, weakness. My doctors so far have diagnosed me with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. My oxygen drops only with minimal exercise from 100% to 80% in 5 minutes jogging on tread mill. The doctors have no clue why with exertion my heart rate goes to 160’s (after ablation) and oxygen down to 80% with minimal exercise. Please help me. I do not have faith in doctors anymore.
