hi there everyone, i bought an ipod very recently, its my first time to own/use an mp3 player…i noticed that whenever im listening to it, i get these shooting pains in my chest area. could it be related to my ipod (possibly electromagnetic waves being emitted) or is it entirely unrelated? Thanks

Localized Chest Pain, Any Doctors In The House? Possible Rib Injury.?
February 6th, 2010I was dirt bike riding last weekend and ended up in a position where I had to man handle the he-ll out of my bike on a hill.
The next day I had slight discomfort in the left side of my chest right behind my left breast. Over the last 3 days it has gotten to the point where it hurts to breath, cough, laugh, twist or turn (even turning my neck hurts), reach for anything with my left arm or sleep on either side.
At first I thought I bruised a rib but I didn’t really do anything to cause that sort of injury, I didnt fall or hit anything. But it’s sore to the touch and the symptoms fit a bruised or cracked rib.
Then I read about strained intercostal muscles, this seems more likely since I was straining with my bike for quite some time and I was using my chest muscles to do so.
So, if anyone knows the difference what do you think mine sounds like and if it is the intercostal muscle how long will it take to heal and is there anything I can do to help with the pain and healing time?

Chest Pain; Possible Broken Blood Vessel?
December 13th, 2009Yesterday my husband was fine and then he started getting a dull ache in his chest (not in the center but more on his left side near his armpit). Then it got worse when he would breathe in, move suddenly or raise his arm.
He was in serious pain last night to the point of wanting to cry. His mother (respiratory therapist) came over and his lungs sounded good, heartbeat fine, blood pressure was good. He took advil and the pain went away. Today the pain is back, though not as bad as last night!
He mentioned it to someone he knows, and the guy said once he strained a muscle or something in his chest once and the pain sounded exactly like a broken blood vessel, which was what his friend was diagnosed with. So I am trying to find info about broken blood vessels and so far = nothing.
I just want to find out symptoms of a broken blood vessel, and treatments. Anyone know??

Chest Pain, Possible Pulmonary Edema?
November 25th, 2009I had chest pain today and eventually went to the hospital. Other symptoms were pain in my upper lefthand back and more pain with movement. I did have a bit of sweating and a heavy feeling when I got up. Symptoms would increase when I exerted myself. They did the normal blood work and my D-dimer test showed a positive, somewhere in the middle is what the nurse said. I had a VQ scan that came back as a low possibility of clot in the lung, but it wasn’t negative. Tomorrow I am having a ultrasound on my legs.
If they don’t find anything, should they be doing anything else? I’ve read a little bit about it and it seems like there could a clot from somewhere else possibly, or even another underlying disease.
I can’t imagine that this chest pain is just a fluke. This is not something that is common for me. Any help would be appreciated.
