The past month or so I have had times when I get pain in my chest area..(I am a chick) either on the left side or right. Also just lately I’ve had moments where I gasp for air all of a sudden! I don’t understand or think it’s critical, but what could it be??
I also had another question posted a few weeks ago thinking I had a lot of symptoms of pregnancy but the tests keep coming back negative…???

What Is This Random Chest Pain?
January 31st, 2010I am a 19 year old female 5’8” 165 lbs. I realize I am slightly overweight. I have been experiencing odd chest pains for about the last month. It is very random, and when I experience it, it can last from a few seconds to a few minutes. I have to stop whatever I am doing from the intense pain. It is only in the left side of my chest in one spot. It feels like a needle or something ripping inside my chest. It hurts worse when I breath in deeply. Any ideas on what it may be? Heartburn? or something else?
Random Chest Pain When Taking A Deep Breath?
December 26th, 2009Anyone ever had this problem? I get a sharp pain every now and then when I take a deep breath. I am a non smoker and engage in pretty intense aerobic activity three to four times a week and never feel this during activity. Just sometimes, usually when I am relaxed, I take a deep breath and it feels like a muscle under my left breast cramps. Any ideas?
Random Chest Pain, Light Headedness And Weakness. What Are Those Symptoms Of? Should I Be Worried??
September 20th, 2009Worried, no. Concerned, yes. I’d schedule an appointment with my doctor. Of course if it concerns you that much, next time it happens go to the hospital.
It could be serious, then again it could just be stress. It also depends on the pain in the chest. If the pain is a “lightning pain” that “streaks” across the chest, it’s most likely stress. However if it radiates down your left arm or up the left side of your neck or jaw, see a doctor pronto.
Random Chest Pain And Other Symptoms? Please Help!?
September 9th, 2009Over the past 2 or 3 years I have noticed that I occasionally get chest and arm pains. By occasionally I mean like they appear for about 5 seconds and then disappear and then come back like 5 minutes later.
Sometimes they are really painful and sometimes not. They can sometimes be sharp pains, that can go down either arm, but usually they are just general niggles that just make me really worried that it is to do with my heart.
I am only 14 years old and not particularly overweight, and a lot of people have told me that, because of this, it is 99.9% chance not my heart. But I still get really anxious and worried.
A lot of the time I also feel nauseous and it can come on at any time, makng me feel really bad.
I also read somewhere that if you can’t get an erection or something, it is sign of heart problems. I can get an erection though.
The thing that confuses me is that, last year, these pains nearly completely disappeared. I was still wary of them coming back but they didn’t seem to, until a couple of months ago, when they came back.
I went to the Doctor about a month ago and told him about the pains. He used his stethescope, but that was it, and told me my heart sounded fine. Should he have done more? An EKG? I went back to a different doctor about a week ago and she tested my blood pressure, blood oxygen, pulse, lung capacity and BMI and she said they were all fine and that it could be costochondritis or Tietze’s Syndrome. Do these tests rule out a heart problem?
Please help. Any explanation to this would be greatly appreciated, I am really worried and anxious. I have told my parents but they don’t seem too worried; they put it down to perhaps growing pains or what the doctor said.
Again, any help is greatly appreciated. In the mean-time, can anyone suggest some ways to calm my anxiety?
Thanks.
