My stomach always hurts! It’s always full of gas. I don’t know how did this come to be because I never skipped meals. I always burp and fart. Sometimes, I am also experiencing chest pain. I was rarely experiencing heartburn before, but it stopped. My appetite also increased.
Could this be GERD or a more serious illness? What should I do?

February 11th, 2010I’ve had acid reflux forever but I have not taken my medication in over a year because I couldn’t afford a doctor. The acid reflux has often caused me chest pain but for the past 3 weeks it’s going down my arm & numb and I have headaches. My friend scared me and told me I was having heart attack symptoms. I’m 22 though. Is it possible that this is acid reflux still or would that definetely be a heart problem? All my grandparents except 1 had heart problems so I know it runs in the family. I go see a doctor today at the clinic for something else so I can get a referral to both a heart and stomach doctor if that’s what I need. I’m just scared now that she said that. Has anyone ever had this with acid reflux?

Chest And Back Pain Due To Acid Reflux Or Intestinal Issues?
January 22nd, 2010I have not been technically diagnosed with either. I have a doctors appointment for what I think is IBS. For 10 years I have had on a daily basis diarrhea, constipation, horrible gas, and cramps. I always just assumed that’s what it was, but with recent events I decided to find out for sure.
As for GERD. The ENT has never specifically mentioned it. I have heart burn daily and recently had my throat scoped. I have had a sore throat for 6+ months. He didn’t find anything a perscribed me some pills that I forget to take.
Before I visited the ENT for the throat the doctor had done some chest x-rays and found nothing to explain the chest pain. It’s usually in the middle of my chest and it was just assumed it was due to the acid reflux.
Starting about 2 weeks ago I have been having random upper and lower back pain. It’s usually in between the shoulder blades. I can’t pin point anything that makes it worse. Breathing deep, exercise, sitting, laying, nothing seems to make the pain worse. It truly is random. It comes and goes and tends to feel like it’s in different spots. It’s a hard pain to explain. Most times dull and not usually a sharp pain. Sometimes I think it may even feel like the pains in my chest.
Could Acid Reflux and intestinal problems be causing my back and chest pain? Anyone else have similar problems?
I have a doctors appointment tomorrow for them to start looking into things. I really hope it’s nothing serious.
Also as a side note. I’m not running a fever or experiencing shortness of breath. My chest feels excellent. I would think that if it were a lung problem I would be having other symptoms, but I’m not a doctor so what do I know?

Chest Pain Resulting From Acid Reflux?
November 17th, 2009I have had acid reflux for about 8 years now. It started when I was drinking a Pepsi and the bubbles expanded in my throat, causing severe pain. The heartburn started pretty much right after that, but I had chest pain associated with it for about 4 years. This past year has been the worst for the pain. The doctor has me on omeprizole and it really helps the heartburn. I have been taking it for 3 months and still have chest pain.
What can be the problem causing the pain and is there any treatment?
Is Difficulty Swallowing And Pain In Chest Upon Swallowing A Symptom Of Acid Reflux…..?
September 17th, 2009I had strep a few weeks ago & had to be put on 2 courses of antibiotics to knock it out(21 days), the strep is now gone. But since being sick & being on the antibiotics, I’ve had heartburn, difficulty swallowing & chest pain upon swallowing & the doctor said he thinks its acid reflux & hastily gave me an acid blocker, which I have yet to take because the heartburn really wasn’t THAT bothersome & I didn’t think I needed it. (My doctor is one of those that rushes you thru, & not a good listener) My chest is bothering me, sometimes even hurting a little when I breathe (although I’ve had no chest congestion or coughing), and when I eat, things that don’t normally get stuck, are getting stuck at my chest & difficult to get to go down & it’s painful. Is this really a symptom of acid reflux? I’ve never had a problem with acid reflux before, I have none of the other symptoms that I’ve heard of with acid reflux. Should I get a 2nd opinion? Anyone had this symptom before?

That part got better, but I still have light stomach pain and light chest pain right in the middle, plus I feel like coughing some. Any idea what could be causing the chest pain?
