Chest Pain Teenager- Should I See A Doctor?

February 25th, 2010

I am experiencing dull pain in my chest, usually my left side but all over as well. It starts and stops, and is especially prevalent when I lie down. It happened last night for about 10 minutes, then it subsided and I went to sleep. Should I schedule a doctors appointment?

Should I Be Worried About This Chest Pain?

February 23rd, 2010

So every now and then I get a sensation around my sternum that feels sort of like a stabbing, sharp pain. I can’t breath deeply without it hurting and sometimes even exhaling hurts. It usually lasts about 10-15 minutes and happens maybe 3 times a month. My mom said it sounds like heartburn, but I’ve had heartburn and it feels nothing like this. I’m not too worried right now because I can usually continue with my daily activities without too much trouble, however it’s becoming more frequent. Any ideas?

Should I Be Worried About A Pain In My Esophagus/throat/chest When I Swallow?

January 13th, 2010

I’m experiencing a type of pain when swallowing anything. It’s in a very specific spot and has not moved at all it’s chest high on the right side of my body but in the center kinda. What I can akin this too is the feeling of when you eat peanut butter and it gets stuck in your throat kinda. Only instead of it being right in the back of my throat, it’s further down. (not sure if the throat extends through this spot or not tho) I’d say the spot is about halfway between my sternum and nipple amd the pain happens whenever what I swallow passes it. There are no other symptoms that I have noticed. This is day 2 or 3 that I’ve felt this.
I’m 26 years old and very fit.
should I be worried about this and go to a doctor? I am seeing an ENT on friday morning for something else(ear) but unless this sounds urgent I’ll wait until then and ask her.

How Fast Should I Run?

January 2nd, 2010

I like running (sidewalk or dirt trails) and my timing is 11 minutes/mile. Is this too slow? Would like to do 5k and 10k’s some day but no matter how much I try, I cannot go faster than 11 minutes/mile.
I think I have the physical strength to do it, but when I try to go faster my heart feels like it wants to explode out of my chest and then I get typical chest pain symptoms!
Am I stuck at 11 minutes/mile or is there something I can do to improve?

It sounds like something that I should get seen about but I don’t want to go and it end up being nothing and my boss will look at me like im faking or something. So how do you know when its work the trip to the doctor?

Should I Be Having Chest Pain After A Visit To The Dentist?

December 21st, 2009

I know it’s an odd question, but I haven’t done anything else to cause it. But it took several rounds of shots to get my mouth completely numb, not to mention the lortabs I got to go home with. It’s been about 19 hours since the procedure (wisdom tooth extraction and fillings), so that’s why I was a little unsure about the medicine causing it. But now, my chest hurts and feels a bit tight.
Is any of this normal?
