Is Is Normal To Have The Pain Of Shingles On Areas Where There Are No Rashes?

February 14th, 2010

Three days ago, I started feeling pain and numbness under my arm and then 2 itchy bumps appeared on my back, both on the left side of my body. The doctor said that there are no lumps on my underarm (as sign of breast cancer) but when she saw the rashes on my back, she said that I may have shingles.I read facts about it and I get confused that the pain that I have is not on the same area as that of my rashes. Is this normal w/ shingles? Now, I still am under observation, awaiting for the rashes to come out so I may be given the right medication. But the pain is progressing, there are stabbing, tingling pains around the left upper side of my body.I even have a little chest pain that occurs occasionally. What else should I expect to feel as an effect or symptom of shingles. Is it also possible to have several areas of the body to develop rashes or is it really on one area only?

Is There A More Effective Treatment For My Erratic Heartbeat Than What I’m Currently Receiving?

December 29th, 2009

I am 55 and have been under treatment for an erratic heartbeat since I was in my late 20′s. However, the treatment I’m presently receiving – 320 mg. of Inderal per day plus 1.5 mg of Xanax – is only partially effective. I am wondering if there might be a more effective treatment available to me. The condition doesn’t bother me much when I am resting or relaxed. Though it seems to be triggered mostly by my emotions, I have noticed that more and more it flares up under physical strain as well. I seriously doubt if I could endure a stress test simply because the fear of such a test would probably trigger an episode before they could even start it. I’ve never had any chest pains or any other symptoms of heart disease. I am also being treated for mildly high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and an anxiety disorder. What bothers me most is the degree to which I am affected psychologically by all this. It puts a crimp in my lifestyle and keeps me from doing things that I might ……

Any Medical Professionals Out There, Quick Question About Chest Pain?

October 22nd, 2009

I woke up today with a pain in my chest, on my right side just above my breast in the middle of my chest. Ok so its just a sort of sharp pain when I breath or move abit. The pain is not too bad, but it is a discomfort. I have experienced this before quite a few times but today its worse than other times. I have told my doctors about it numerous times, but each has said something different. The last one said use nerofen gel, which I am using but its not helping now. This pain comes on abruptly and randomly, every few months, I do have asthma but I have NO breathing problems, just a sharp pain above my right breast on the left side.
What is this? I looked on the internet and I think it might be Costochondritis, I am not a medical person so its just a guess, What do you think? Should I go to the doctor? Everytime I see them they just say, it will go away, dont worry about it. However I am worried

I Am 25 And Have This Strange Pain In My Chest,i Have No Inssurence,is There Any Body Who Have Had This Prob?

October 15th, 2009

Has any one ever had those symptoms, what happened after they went to the doc? I have this chest pain which is not an actual pain it is just a discomfort, and kind of heaviness or I shouldn’t say heavy, I am confused I cant describe it, its kind of coming back and forth from last few months, the reason why I am worried about it is because my left shoulder and arm is kind of heavy, I visited a doc in a free health camp caz I cant afford going to others, and he told me that its ok ,he said at this age and the depression and anxiety you’ve god its normal, but I am worried caz it is keep on coming back and then it disappears like it wasn’t there, but at the same time I got no real symptoms of all the heart diseases ,as I don’t get any sweating and shortness of breath etc with the chest pain. can some one please please please help me who has any knowledge about any of this or any website where I can get free advise from docs or any one , or any body who has had experienced these kind of pain in discomfort?

Is There A Doc That Can Explain This Chest Pain?

October 14th, 2009

After an episode of crushing chest pain that lasted 30-45 minutes, I was admitted to the hospital, determined not to have had a heart attack, but was observed overnight.
That night I had a 6 beat run of vtach. I am now on a 30 day monitor.
My symptoms seem to be getting worse. Now its short bursts of crushing chest pain, almost always when my heart drops into the 50-65 bpm range. Then I feel like my head is going to explode and my left arm goes numb – earlier it was even the whole left side of my body. Last night I had stabbing pains that jolted me out of a sound sleep. I have to wait several days before they can tell me what my monitor says for that time.
If I ran to the ER every time this happened, I’d just as well sleep in the parking lot because I’d be going every day. So what causes such awful pain at low heart rates in a healthy 30 something female with strong family heart disease history?
EKGs have been normal (sinus brady)
