Often, heart problems present with more than just chest pain. Other symptoms that could signal a heart problem include weakness, shortness of breath, pain that radiates to your jaw or shoulder, fainting, nausea, fast heart beat, confusion–too many to mention.
And I’ve been having chest pain recently. I’m in great shape, but sometimes when i have the random sharp pains (which started recently-about 2 weeks ago) i get strange feelings in my upper arm and shoulder. Also, I have hyperthyroidism which causes loss of concentration. Sometimes when I’m talking i get off track and my mind goes completely blank. Could this count for the confusion listed above?

January 26th, 2010About twice a month, I will have a sharp throbbing pain on the left side of my chest that feels as if it is directly under my breast. Sometimes it lasts a few seconds others a couple of minutes. It takes my breath away and I am not able to speak or breathe during the “attack”
This has been ongoing for about three years but in the past six months has gotten worse. I have always considered maybe this is gas or something intestinal. Just as a general response what is your opinion on the causes of this, or if you have experienced this, what was the outcome?

January 24th, 2010I feel an occasional ache on my left chest. I’m pretty sure that it’s not a muscular stress. Last night, I think the ache crawled up to my throat. I’m not sure. But the source of ache is at the chest. Could this be a heart problem? I don’t feel any more symptoms related to it. I’m only 17, what could I be getting? any scientific guess? thanks.

im sorry this is long but i really need help. A week ago i started feeling weak and dizzy with no energy what so ever. I then started getting pain in the centre of my chest. On tuesday this was diagnosed as costachondritis which is the inflamation of the cartilage connecting each individual rib to the sternum. all that could help this is anti inflamatories but being an asthmatic i could not get prescribed any. MY GP told me this pain would last around a monnth and all i could do was take paracetamol. On thursday the pain started spreading away from the area of the sternum, and started to resemble the pleurisy symptoms i had a few months ago, however there was no shortness of breath. By friday i was in absolute agony with constant pain on my chest with designated areas of shooting pain. I went to the walk in centre to see a diffeent GP as it was around 9pm. She carried out a number of tests and was completely stumped as to what was wrong. She mentioned shingles but i didnt have any other symptoms. She also mentioned pneumothorax however she couldnt hear any whistling and my oxygen levels were 99% and again no shortness of breath. Later friday night and now saturday morning atop of this pain it has been feeling like someone has been stabbing pins into the top of my back. Im in agony and really have no idea what to do and neither do doctors it seems. I have looked up shingles but have no other symptoms and no rash. PLEASE HELP ME!!!
by the way just incase it matters. i took paracetamol however it was doing nothing. And when i went to the walk in centre she gave me co-codamol which doesnt seem to be helping with the pain either. Also i am a 15 year old female. And i know i will need to go to the hospital again but i was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what is wrong?

January 17th, 2010My fiancee has alot of chest pain for 5 years maybe more. His heart beats are thumping and you can really see his heart beat his left ribs look more out than the right side. He gets shortness of breath and he could just be sitting down or even asleep when this stabbing pain would start hurting him.
What could this be? I think it maybe an enlarged heart??
