Chest And Throat Pain Immediately After Taking Birth Control?

October 11th, 2009

I started taking birth control10 days ago. Everything was going great until 3 days ago when I started experiencing some scary symptoms. I take my pill at night. About 2 minutes after I take it, my chest starts to feel heavy and I always have to remove my bra because I feel like my lungs are being restricted. Then my throat starts to feel tight like someone is holding it from the front with their hand. Then I start to feel very anxious because i feel like I can’t breathe. These feelings last for 2-3 hours until I fall asleep, and I always wake up feeling fine. Is this normal? Has anyone ever experienced this?

September 14th, 2009

Regardless of other symptoms, chest pain should never be ignored. See a doctor. Some of your other symptoms may be due to a cold or flu. I don’t think you have swine flu. Also FYI, most cases of swine flu in the US have been mild. I think people have been over reacting to it.
As I said, chest pain should never be ignored. See a doctor.
