Is There A More Effective Treatment For My Erratic Heartbeat Than What I’m Currently Receiving?

December 29th, 2009

I am 55 and have been under treatment for an erratic heartbeat since I was in my late 20′s. However, the treatment I’m presently receiving – 320 mg. of Inderal per day plus 1.5 mg of Xanax – is only partially effective. December 23rd, 2009

I have hyper-thyroidisum and my heart is in a very weak state right now. I have been almost 4 weeks without treatment and have been in the ER 4 times last week. As of Friday I have been on a bata blocker 3 times a day and tapazole twice a day. However my heart seems more weak today than it has in a few days. I also have had a sharp pain in my chest and light headedness. I called the doctor on call about 30 mins ago and she told me to cut my bata blocker in half and take a half in the morning and the other at night. Thats cutting my dose drasticlly. Going from 3 pills daily to 1 pill daily concerns me, exspecially when she is not my doctor. What should I do?
