A Cholesterol Blood Test Can Help Keep Your Cholesterol Levels In Check

May 30th, 2010

If you have cholesterol, are not sure if you do, or are concerned that you are at risk, it is important to conduct a cholesterol blood test. It is conducted in order to measure the level of cholesterol and triglycerides that are present in your blood. You can do cholesterol blood tests at home by using a test kit, or you can see your health care professional to have the same test done just as easily.

Prevent High Cholesterol Levels

Your cholesterol blood tests are really used more for assessing your risk of heart disease or heart attack. In case you have a high chance of struggling with dangerously high levels of cholesterol in your blood. The diagnosis and monitoing of the disease is another reason to do a cholesterol blood test. The presence of elevated levels of bad cholesterol portend to development of heart disease on account of subsequent hardening of the arteries. The cholesterol blood test is made a part of preventive healthcare. You can also work to prevent high cholesterol levels by using a natural cholesterol lowering supplement.

Whether you choose to do a cholesterol blood test kit from home or have your doctor do it for you, you should have it done. You can also take preventive measures by using natural supplements recommended, such as CholesLo. Natural supplements can maintain healthy levels, by reducing the LDL numbers and raising the HDL numbers. It is important maintaining a good balance and a supplement can help you to do that.

Cholesterol is fat which can be found in the blook and even though good cholesterol works to protect your heart, bad cholesterol easily builds up in the arteries and can damage the heart. The clogged arteries can cause your heart to suffer from problems. A cholesterol blood test is also performed to check the level of triglycerides that is another kind of fat that is found in the blood.

Health and Cholesterol

If you’re aged twenty or older, you should have your cholesterol blood test at least once every five years or so and you should also have a lipid profile test. These tests are also done as part of a routine physical. Know your treatment options, take a blood test and read a CholesLo review. It is better to be forewarned about your health and cholesterol do’s and don’ts.

The good news is that a cholesterol blood test is not painful and if you have no problems with needles, you’ll be fine. Some risks associated with home cholesterol blood tests include bleeding too much, taking too much blood and puncturing too many times in an effort to find a vein.

About Irregular Heartbeat Symptoms And Chest Pain?

September 7th, 2009

Your Question
About irregular Heartbeat?
I just got out of the hospital and I really need some answers and want to know if there is anyone out there who suffers from what I am dealing with…I ended up with more questions than answers when I got out.
I have had panic attacks in the past, but I got over them for the past year.
I have had a particular stressful time in my life with no job and no money so survival has been very hard.
I started suffering last Monday with severe irregular heartbeats. Then they got worse and worse. I noticed a pattern. Then, my heart rate was severe and would not go down. So, I had palpitations on top of everything else. I also have Acid Reflux and need to lose about 100 pounds. I am on a special diet on top of Weight Watchers and am working very hard to lose the weight.
The precise problem is…every time I exercise, I get the irregular heartbeat, after I start resting. I am truly scared about what this means.
I went a local (supposedly good) hospital but it was honestly a bad experience. The doctor was not listening to me. She was demeaning and degrading to me b/c she would not answer my questions. She just told me that nothing was wrong with my heart and that I need to follow up with my doctor. When I asked her what was causing my irregular heartbeat specifically after exercise, she had no answer and told me to ask my regular doctor. She seemed ill qualified to be a doctor, the staff was inattentive and the entire place seemed that they were grooming me to get me out of there, not deal with my concerns.
I now have more questions than when I came in and am still suffering from this problem. Because the heart rhythm sensations were so pronounced, I ended up going to the hospital after not sleeping for three days…
I have a follow up with my doctor on Monday, who told me Friday I have metabolic syndrome and that my Triglycerides were high. However, I am very educated about my health and I found that my Triglycerides were high b/c I take Diamox and suffer from Pseudotumor, a neurological condition that causes extra fluid in the brain.
I am looking for a job and i honestly cannot see myself working even part time or any job with these disturbing heart rhythms.
I basically feel there is a lot more going on than meets the eye and I have this on and off for the past two years and am feeling like I am being jerked around because nobody has really given me any answers.
I feel judged, stereotyped and degraded often by doctors who, I feel, treat me worse because of my weight, and therefore, I went to a gastroenterologist who did not do all of the tests he could have done. I hhad an endoscopy but that came back “with inflammation”. He never really followed up with me despite the fact that I demanded more testing for my Esophogus. Now, every time I eat or drink, everything goes up including liquids, they just keep reluxing up automatically. So I need more help and a better doctor who can help me with gastro issues…and I want to know how this could be tied into my chest pain too.
I have suffered from anxiety and again this is a very stressful time in my life. I feel that the added addition of the metabolic syndrome and having to go onto new drugs on top of the Diamox I am taking is very daunting and on top of all of this. I am dealing with some very severe problems regarding finding a good primary care doctor who will help me with all of these issues.
