I quit smoking about 2 months ago due to the chest pain and for some other reasons (dental). By the way I stopped smoking using the cold turkey method than by using any other techniques, however still have the chest pain when I take a deep deep breath, though it’s not really bad but I was hoping that it would go away after few weeks or a month. My other question is that I can’t sleep 8 hours straight every night, “sleep about 4 – 5 hours” is it because of the nicotine? Thanks in advance….

I Have Chest Pain When I Move A Certain Way And Have A Few Questions?
February 4th, 2010I was wondering what this could be. I am 22 years old and in good shape, I run probably 10 miles a week and bike about 30-40 miles. About three days ago I noticed that when I moved a certain way my chest hurt moderately in the center. It started to go away with rest but now it is back and seems worse than ever. It kind of hurts when I breath, although the pain is mild. The pain extends a bit to the left side but is mainly in the center of the chest and hurts more when I press on the area. My blood pressure and heart rate are normal if that means anything. I can’t remember doing any activities that would hurt that area, although as I mentioned I am very active.
So my questions are:
-Are there any muscles in that area that could be injured with my symptoms?
-Would I know if I had a bruised or broken rib?
-Could I have some other problem like with the heart or lungs?
I am reluctant to go to the doctor since I seem to be functioning normally besides the pain.

Somtimes When I Eat Too Much And Stuff My Self, I Get Chest Pain.?
February 3rd, 2010Its on the left side, it is a sharp shooting pain that lasts for about 1 second and then goes away. It goes away for 10 or 15 seconds and then comes back for another second. Its not very intense or dull, just a sharp shooting pain. Is this normal, I might add that i didnt have chest pain before i started eating.

January 30th, 2010i have been looking after my daughter all week who has had flu and a chest infection. i got up yesterday morning and could feel my chest was a bit sore. coughed a bit and as the day wore on i could feel phlegm loosening up. coughed up a bit last night but it was so painful i was in tears. it hurt for about 10 mins after.
had a bit of a temperature, mines normally about 36.5 and it was 37.9 last night.
didnt sleep at all last night, kept tossing and turning and watching the clock all night. kept feeling like i was going to be sick.
this morning it is just as painful and tastes funny when i cough.
i dont want to cough because it hurts so bad, but will not coughing up make it worse?
do you think its a proper chest infection or just a virus?
i hate going to the docs and will only go if i know i need treatment
