I had an intense chest pain and difficulty breathing this past Thursday, so I went to the ER. After being checked, the doctor told me that my blood, EKG and x-ray results didn’t show any problem. She said that it was probably acid reflux, and so I spent the entire day taking Maalox. On Friday morning, the pain and pressure continued, which made me go to a clinic to get a different opinion. This doctor told me that it was an anxiety attack which had caused these symptoms. I really disagree with him, because I don’t feel anxious or depressed. Anyway, he prescribed 10mg of Paxil for 30 days. I’ve already purchased the medication, but after reading about the side effects, I’m not sure if I will take them. The real problem that I have is that I still continue to have the chest pain, although the pressure has gone away since Saturday. What should I do? I’m running out of ideas.

Does Anyone Have Chest Pain With Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
February 6th, 2010My husband had his gallbladder out about 4 years ago and his health has not been right since. He’s had all kinds of tests including 3 ERCPs, another endoscopy, colonoscopy, breath tests and many, many bloodwork tests. He’s seen about 4 different doctors including a GI specialist and the surgeon who removed his gallbladder. Right now his latest doctor thinks he has irritable bowel syndrome as nothing else seems to fit. Really though the bowel symptoms (2-3 loose BM’s a day) are really the least of it. Mostly he is complaining of overwhelming fatigue and chest pain (it is not cardiac related) that he says is similar to the pain that he had when he was having his gallbladder attacks. I think he needs an ultrasound or CT of this area to see what is going on. All his bloodwork is coming back within normal limits so there is not much to go on. I was just wondering if anyone else has had symptoms like this and had it resolved or improved to better health?

February 5th, 2010I Saw my Dr. and they thought it was my gallbladder, but had several tests run after going to ER with terrible burning and chest pain and they said gallbladder showed no stones. Since I was also having chest pain, they checked out my heart through multiple tests…also fine. ER doc said maybe I have ulcers… so I have taken prilosec OTC for a month and a half now but no relief. I am so tired of this pain, and I really do not think it is related to my stomach, as I have no pain or burning in my stomach area. I have felt bloated at times, but not often, and never abdominal pain. Only terrible burning in back and into chest along with burping quite often. ANYONE, PLEASE HELP if you have had symptoms like this. I can’t afford to keep going to Drs and getting no relief…it is so frustrating. Thanks

First it was just severe chest pains and today he had sever chest pains associated with numbness on the left side and tightness of the jaw. I gave him two Bayer Asprin each time and he got alright. He will not go to the Dr. He is Diabetic, Sleep Ap, High Blood Pressure and he had surgery on his shoulder 3 months ago. He had test ran on his heart three months ago and was find.
Excruciating Pain In Chest With Cough?
January 29th, 2010I have been having cold for a month, later I started to cough and with the coughs pain in the chest came. It developed into really intense pain. Earlier it was in the back, right top side of my back, when that pain went away (I was still coughing) my front, lower left side got really tender, painful when touched, when i cough or breath.
I don’t have fever, I had a chest x-ray and it was ok. Does anyone know what this is? Doctors prescribed antibiotics assuming that the chest pain is from much coughing, also to prevent my cold to develop to pnemonia.
Severe Central Chest/back Pain With Bad Headache/blurry Vision?
January 29th, 2010Hey just wanted to start off by saying I’m 19 and I have a pretty active life style. I’ve had this problem a total of 3 times and after the last time I started getting worried and decided to look into it. The time of the symptoms are completely random, it can happen when I’m exercising or just sitting around. It starts with a bad chest pain in the center right near my heart, no pressure or anything just a deep pain like something is lodged in my chest, it’s usually so bad I have to stop what I’m doing. It then spreads to my back with the same exact pain right in the same spot as my chest. It then goes to my front of my neck, usually the left side, today it was on the right, same kind of pain and it feels like the pain is connected together. It is usually accompanied by a very bad headache. The first time it happened I was at Wal-Mart just shopping, it lasted for about 2 hours. The second time was at a friends house and it was real bad, it lasted for about 2 days and was horrible, I had blurry vision and a severe headache and had to lay down the whole time. This time was bad but nothing like the last two times. It was at it’s worst for about an hour, I still have residual pain,especially when I swallow. I’ve looked all over the internet and was even told it might be GERD or something like that. The thing is I haven’t had any kind of acid-reflux for years now and there is no burning or regurgitation or anything. I don’t have any shortness of breath, no fatigue or anything like that, just a bad headache (not like a normal one which I seem to have everyday) and blurry vision. I can’t think of what is causing it, the only thing that I was diagnosed with was a herniated disc which seems to be completely unrelated. If anyone knows anything about this, and I mean anything, please let me know I am really concerned and am considering going to the ER. Thanks in advance for your time.
