Work Air Conditioning Causing Chest Pain?

February 17th, 2010

Since moving to a new ultra modern office building with full air conditioning and NO opening windows. I have been experiencing dryness in my throat and a stabbing pain under my right rib, I mentioned it to another member of staff who said she was thinking of going to the doctor as sh had the same symptoms. We have put bowls of water out which did seem to ease it, however the problem persists and gets worse as the week goes on clearing up at the weekend.
Has anyone else come across this and other than changing job – not that easy at the moment- any solutions.
Thanks

Why Do I Get A Chest Pain When I Get A Call From Work?

Left Arm Pain And Breathing Issues, Ecg, Blood Work And Chest Xrays Were Normal?

January 17th, 2010

I am a 21 year old female living in the Texas heat! :( About a month ago, I went to the ER because I was short of breath, I had some left arm pain, minor chest pain and I thought I might be having heart issues…although being 21 years old…it is very unlikely.
They ran an ECG, they did blood work, they took chest xrays and all was absolutely normal. They were unsure of the reasoning behind my issues but thought it might be GERD, or anxiety or something of the sort and then they sent me home. I am on 40mgs of prescription prilosec daily and it helps with the breathing somewhat it seems…it seems like I don’t have as much trouble breathing as frequently as I used to but it still comes and goes.
Well, ever since last weekend, I have had this twinge of burning pain that will come and go through out the day for 20 or 30 second spouts and then it just stops. When I press on it, it feels as if it is bruised, the skin looks normal around the area…sometimes the skin around the area itches a bit but other than that…nothing…
I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and OCD when I was 18…so mentally, I am under alot of stress and anxiety because I feel that something is always wrong with me so sometimes, I feel little aches and pains and it multitudes into something larger mentally for me.
I am going into my dr. tomorrow morning to request that I be referred to a cardiologist who can perform a stress test on me and try and get some answers to my issues…
I know that these symptoms resemble a heart attack just from reading tid bits about heart troubles here and there and want to know if since I had the ECG, blood work and chest xrays done there was any reason I should still be concerned that this be signs of heart trouble or a heart attack if the tests came back normal about a month ago…
I am really beginning to worry myself and feel that I might have a heart attack at any given moment.
I have also considered the fact that maybe I have a pinched nerve or something because it is a burning sensation and it really becomes painful when I have lifted something, when I move it a certain way or if I have my purse on my left shoulder….does this type of pain sound like heart pain or does it lean more toward anxiety and GERD/heart burn…
I really would like some serious answers please!!

Why Am I Getting A Sharp Pain In My Upper Chest When I Breath And Work Out?

October 19th, 2009

When I lift weights and work out I get this sharp pain in my chest especially during dips and other exercises that stress the chest. Even when not working out, I get the pain when I breath in deeply. The pain is more towards the right side of my body and it is pretty deep into the chest. I’m not sure if I’m getting this from a certain exercise that I have done or if it from something else.

Mild Chest Pain That Occured At Work, What Should I Do?

October 2nd, 2009

I work as a CNA at a Rehabilitation center, after lifting a patient, I’ve felt a minor chest pain. I can’t explain it, it felt fine but when I move from side to side or bulk up my chest, I feel that mild pain. It’s not really that painful, it’s more like heavy air on your chest or something (very hard to explain).
